New Publication Spotlights Issue of Domestic Violence in Immigrant Communities

Domestic Violence in Immigrant Communities: Case Studies, was made possible in part by a Sheridan Scholarship, Research and Creative Activities (SRCA) Growth Grant, and includes the anonymized summarized legal case documents of 15 survivors of domestic violence that were before the Ontario courts within the past 10 years.

Sheridan Team Designs NewPneu, a Cost-Effective System for Diagnosing Childhood Pneumonia in Low-Resource Settings

A device designed by a team of faculty and student researchers at Sheridan’s Centre for Mobile Innovation (CMI) has the potential to impact the diagnosis of community-acquired pneumonia - a significant cause of death for children worldwide, according to the World Health Organization.

Sheridan College and Durham College with support of up to $100,000 from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program will undertake university-industry projects by sharing their applied research centre services and by providing expert time to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Canadian media industry.
