President’s Message

Janet Morrison, Sheridan's President and Vice Chancellor

My name is Janet Morrison; I'm a life-long learner and an educator who believes in the transformative power of post-secondary education. I'm honoured to lead an institution renowned for its commitment to excellence. Our alumni lead successful businesses, win Academy, Emmy and Canadian Screen Awards, and make invaluable contributions in the healthcare, technology and community service fields. We are tremendously proud of their local and global accomplishments as active, engaged citizens.

While proud of our past, I'm also excited for our future. Over the next five years, Sheridan will activate its new strategic plan, which will see us architect a new kind of higher education — one that blends the best of what colleges, polytechnics and universities have to offer.

We're building on the best of our history — a mix of career-focused credentials, hands-on learning, small class sizes, professors who remain rooted in industry, and a wide spectrum of research and creative activities that directly involve our students.

But we're adding a new focus on individual transformation by developing our students' capacity to thrive on change — something that takes agility, self-direction, calculated risk taking and imagination. Undoubtedly, the world is changing fast — but we're dedicated to ensuring that our graduates will navigate it with confidence.

Across our three campuses, learners will always come first. Whether you enrol at Sheridan to earn a diploma, graduate certificate or degree, you'll find a learning environment fuelled by innovation and creativity, taught by dedicated professors, enhanced by the latest technology and supported by services designed to fuel positive outcomes.

Finally, Sheridan is committed to providing students with a well-rounded experience that develops their interests, values and goals. To that end, there are countless ways to enrich your time at school and enhance your résumé through athletics, student government, social clubs, student advisement, work integrated learning, community volunteer work or participation in applied research projects.

Executive Assistant to the President and Vice Chancellor

Sheridan acknowledges that all of its campuses reside on land that for thousands of years before us was the traditional Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations, Anishinaabe Nation, Huron-Wendat and the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. It is our collective responsibility to honour and respect those who have gone before us, those who are here, and those who have yet to come. We are grateful for the opportunity to be working on this land.
