Welcome to Sheridan Counselling Services. We are here to help you achieve your goals.
Sheridan's staff and Counsellors are available to assist with any of your concerns. Counselling Services are offered to assist students in building solutions to their own personal, emotional or interpersonal concerns that may be impacting academic success at Sheridan.
Counselling appointments are free, confidential and readily available for your benefit.
We offer drop-in sessions for your convenience. You can sign up for a drop-in appointment on the same day that you would like to see a Counsellor by coming to our office in B103 Trafalgar or B230 Davis. We also offer appointments and can make referrals to other community services. Throughout the year a variety of groups and workshops are offered as well as informal gatherings geared specifically for mature students. Check our News and Events section for upcoming activities.
If you feel you are in crisis either during or after classes there is help available. NEW - TRACKING FOR SUCCESS
Many students face challenges during their time at College, both academic and personal. The Sheridan Counseling Services department has created the following Tracking for Success guidance tool to help. Fill out the questionnaire, keep it with you and refer to it frequently throughout your studies.
On pages 1 and 2, you will be asked to fill out your course information including dates and times of assignments and tests. The information will include what is on your timetable and is meant to provide you with your academic "to do list" at a glance.
On pages 3 and 4 you will find a series of questions which are categorized as follows:
A clear understanding of your Educational Goals
Good Organizational Skills
Active Learning Skills
Your answers to these questions will help you to identify where some extra effort may be required on your part and in which area. This information will be valuable to you as you move ahead in your studies.
Contact the Counseling Services Office at any time if you have questions about the Tracking for Success tool.
