Office of the Registrar

The Office of the Registrar (OTR) is committed to supporting student success by providing in-person, on-line and self-service information and services that attract and retain students, enhance their educational experience and ensure the accuracy, integrity and security of their records. Self service on-line options are available through myOTR Online, an online portal to the Office of the Registrar that draws together a host of useful guides, resources and contacts. Visit myOTR Online and myStudent Centre, a secure personalized web page through which you can access all the information required to manage your campus life, academics and financial transactions, and collaborate with other students, faculty, advisors, and staff.

Assessment Centre

The Sheridan Assessment Centre provides services to Sheridan applicants, students and faculty by administering admission and placement assessments, and invigilating make-up tests/exams.

The Assessment Centre also offers proctoring services to other educational institutions.

Financial Aid

Every year, Sheridan awards over $4 million in bursaries, scholarships and awards that are in addition to government funding. Most Sheridan students are eligible for some type financial assistance. The Financial Aid Office assists students to determine what aid they may qualify for and help them obtain it. The Financial Aid Office provides information about awards, bursaries and scholarships.

Accessible Learning

Sheridan offers a wide range of services for students who have been formally identified or documented as having a disability. Services include, testing accommodation, alternative print material, peer mentoring and referrals for other services such as financial assistance. Staff works closely with students to identify the impact of their disability on learning and academic performance including student rights and responsibilities as a student with a disability.

Student Advisement Centre

The Student Advisement Centre is the first point of contact for all student questions, requests for information or advice on anything related to Sheridan. Students can get their questions answered immediately. Centre staff is dedicated to assisting students to adjust to college life and their academic program, access all the Sheridan information they need to make appropriate decisions and connect to Advisors when experiencing difficulties or concerns.

Library Services

Most of the electronic resources in the Library are available through remote access. You will require an internet connection, your Access Sheridan ID and password. Library Staff offers research help with e-resources and can refer you to other appropriate sources of information.

The Career Centre

Career Services

The Career Centre Employment Advisor can help students develop a job search strategy and locate advertised employment opportunities. The Career Centre's Career Counsellors help students explore career interests and provide career direction to find the right program fit. If students are considering university or another college program, students can also get help with planning to further their education.

Peer Mentoring and Tutoring Services

Peer Mentors are Students Helping Students. Peer Mentors work in all departments of Student Services, providing invaluable assistance to fellow students. They have top academic skills and are genuinely interested in helping other students succeed at Sheridan! The Peer Tutoring Service allows you to access the assistance of a senior student, via appointment, to help enhance your skills in the academic subject of your choice. Experienced staff tutors in English, Math and other subjects are available.

Information Technology Services

Information Technology is the hub for technology-based services at Sheridan. I.T. is committed to supporting and improving the learning, teaching and administrative functions at Sheridan. Students can access the I.T. website to get access to the resources and services they need to get connected to technology at Sheridan. The I.T. Help Desk provides telephone and email support and is a central point of contact for the analysis and resolution of problems and queries relating to information technologies at Sheridan.

Financial Aid

Sheridan's Learning and Teaching Environment (SLATE) provides teachers and students with a web environment that supports in-class and online courses. Your teachers select the features available for each course. You can access SLATE from any computer with an Internet connection. Your teachers add content to individual courses. Students registered in the course have online access to the content 24/7. SLATE has a number of communication tools, such as email, discussions and chat. As well, teachers can evaluate your work using online assignments and assessments.

Full time Studies Contact Centre

The Contact Centre for Full time students provides one-to-one service over the telephone or via email to students who would like information or assistance. The Centre is open 6 days per week: Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
