Business Administration - Marketing
Graduation Year: 2005
My time at Sheridan taught me the rewards of learning both inside and outside the classroom. My work with the Student Union, Business Council and the Advertising Association not only helped me network within the college but expanded my life experiences as well. Learning is important but gaining experience is also key to your growth. One of the best professors I had, Mary Kanko, used her life experiences to bring our course material to life.
As a student, I worked part-time at The Cage (now ConneXions) at the Trafalgar Campus. After graduation, I was the Bar Operations Manager at the Rec. Room at the Davis Campus from 2007-09. I was also President of the Sheridan Advertising Association (which I helped establish) from 2006-07.
More recently, I worked with the Alumni Relations Office to create a Facebook group and a fan page both launched this past summer. They are great way to let alumni know what’s going on at Sheridan and encourage them to get more involved with events. I had already established a Facebook group after graduation to stay in touch with my former classmates. http://www.facebook.com/sheridanalumni
I enjoy working with students on a daily basis and hope to obtain a position in a postsecondary environment. I also plan to further develop my photography business (you’ve been dub’d) which I started nine years ago.
I look back fondly to my first experience at Sheridan during orientation. At the end of a presentation by the School of Business, I correctly answered a question and won a leather-bound Sheridan portfolio binder. To this day, I still use it.
