Mississauga Mashup was selected for presentation this July at Changing The Change, a conference focused on best practices of using visualization for social change in Torino, Italy after a peer review by an international committee.
VDI adapted a simple 3D social networking application to create an interactive mash-up tool. A mash-up is when people combine media such as still images, videos, text, music, and drawings to create new expressions and stories. The Mississauga Mash Up tool, as it has come to be known, was used at the inaugural Mississauga city summit. Civic leaders and industry leaders used the tool collaboratively to solve problems and create new visions for the future of the city.
