GFS Ninja

While researching the capabilities of the Gameboy Advance, we developed this demo. Being avid video game fans, we jumped at the chance to work with Nintendo's leading hand held system. Even though the project was never finished, we learned a lot about developing on platforms with very limited resources. We'd love the chance to work with other hand held devices.

gfsNinja is a cross between the old NES classics Ninja Gaiden and Bionic Commando. gfsNinja was programmed for the Gameboy Advance from scratch using unofficial "homebrew" methods. It was developed in parallel with the gfsEngine. The game is still an early prototype. The only impressive gameplay mechanic so far is the grappling hook swinging. The art style is fairly simplistic with big solid colours and bold outlines. gfsNinja shows a lot of potential, but there's still a long way to go before it can be considered finished.
