AimPoint 3D is a professional golf green visualizer. Using highly accurate and detailed 3D laser scans from the client, VDI is able to translate that data into a real-time 3d environment. This provides the user with an interactive tool for analysing golf greens. AimPoint 3D also features many detailed graphs and overlays including: contours, slopes, elevation and AimPoint charts.
This project was originally created using the Cipher Engine and then later switched to Ogre 3D Engine and CEGUI. All 3D data for the actual green surface was provided by the client using 3D laser scans. The surounding area, bunkers, and textures were created by VDI using Maya and PhotoShop.
