VISUALIZATION DESIGN INSTITUTE (VDI)

Sheridan Visualization Design Institute is dedicated to innovation in computer visualization and is expert in deploying game technologies to create three-dimensional, real-time, environments.  Since its inception in 1999, the institute has undertaken more than thirty projects covering an impressive array of sectors including e-learning, health, bio-technologies, atomic energy, municipal infrastructure and all genres of video-gaming from web 2.0 applications to 4-dimensional environments integrating laser scanned objects and cultural artifacts.

VDI's current research focuses on customizing game engines and mobile applications to enable movement in and out of 3D environments. Additionally, VDI has research focuses in “touchless and clickless” user interfaces, as well as low energy motion analysis technologies at proof of concept stage and on a patent track.
