The aim of this initiative is to match current Sheridan students with alumni and industry Mentors to gain insightful guidance and assistance with their career paths. Mentees are ideally partnered with Mentors from their fields of study and a reciprocal relationship of learning and development is fostered. Interested in becoming a mentee? You must attend one of our upcoming information sessions. |
|
How is the program designed? The program launches with a networking event, where all Mentors and Mentees will meet, and where a formal agreement for each partnering will be established. This opportunity is limited to 40 participants: 20 Mentors, 20 Mentees.
What is the time commitment? There will be three 2-hour networking events: a launch in January, another session in February, and a wrap-up in March. Between those dates, it is expected that the Mentor and Mentee will correspond at least three times in whatever mode they have determined for themselves. This will be via email, by telephone or in person, perhaps in the form of a job shadow or on-site visit.
How will students and Mentors be matched? Students and mentors will fill out application forms and include resumés. The Career Centre will attempt to make the closest match with student's chosen career fields, or with someone who is closely linked to their area of study.
How can I get involved? This program is open to all students and we are currently recruiting interested students and mentors. If you are a student interested in finding our more information about the program or if you know of anyone who would like to be a mentor, please contact the
