Withdrawal and Refund Policies

General Withdrawal Information

Withdrawal from Online Courses should only be processed by the department of Online Education and Programs at Sheridan and must be documented by either Email, Fax, or signed letter. Verbal withdrawal cannot be accepted in any circumstance.

It is the student's sole responsibility to get a withdrawal confirmation from the College either in writing or by email. If there are any withdrawal issues 'after the fact', and students do not have a withdrawal confirmation in writing, 'after the fact' withdrawals cannot be processed!

Requests for withdrawal should be emailed to Sheridan Online Coordinator with your name, student ID, course name and documentation if required. Refunds take approx. 30 calendar days to process.

Withdrawal Caused by Personal Medical Concerns

If you are hospitalized or otherwise not able to continue the course due to medical reasons you may submit documentation and be evaluated for a partial refund and have the academic reference to the course removed.

Medical reasons or conditions used for withdrawal evaluations must be documented by a medical professional. The documentation must also receive final approval by Sheridan College.

The application for a medical withdrawal must be received by Sheridan College within 5 days from the occurrence of the medical condition that prevents you from finishing the course. You must also state that it has not been possible for you to go to work in the claim period, and be prepaired to submit verification documentation to that effect, if considered necessary.
