The McGuinty government is investing $4,633,800 million in Sheridan to support infrastructure improvements, it was announced yesterday. The funding will help Sheridan complete priority projects related to energy efficiency and campus safety, and make upgrades and improvements to existing facilities.
"Sheridan is most grateful to have received this grant. It will allow us to retrofit existing areas to suit program needs, as well as upgrade some of our 40 year-old HVAC systems with high efficiency boilers and chillers. It will also accelerate our plans with respect to emergency preparedness, making our campuses safer," said Dr. Robert Turner, Sheridan President and CEO.
"This funding is part of our government’s overall strategy to invest in the people of Ontario through strategic infrastructure improvements and new job creation," said John Milloy, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities. "It is also an important investment in tomorrow’s workforce by creating better, safer learning environments for our students."
This campus renewal funding is part of the $1.4 billion announced in the Fall Economic Statement for strategic infrastructure investments.
