Sheridan’s world-renowned Computer Animation Program has been stocking Hollywood with talent since the 1980s. We were the first animation school to begin teaching computer animation, and our program has launched many prominent careers while breaking new ground in the entertainment, advertising and gaming industries.

More Than an Animation School

Don’t think of us simply as a computer animation school. At Sheridan you’ll learn to communicate, using computer animation as your instrument. During eight months of intensive hands-on training, you’ll work with the same high-end 3D computer animation software, technology and techniques the professionals use — but you’ll also learn:

  • Animation principles and practices
  • Story structure
  • Character development
  • Character performance
  • Directing
  • Cinematography
  • Art direction
  • Production design

 A Studio on Campus

Sheridan’s instructors are industry veterans who helped pioneer today’s computer animation methods and tools. And our students are often accomplished artists in their own right: Each year’s class includes people trained as classical animators, illustrators, filmmakers, graphic designers, architects and industrial designers.

You’ll work in a professional environment in the Sheridan Centre for Animation and Emerging Technologies (SCAET), surrounded by talented classmates and led by the best instructors. It’s no wonder that Sheridan stands alone among computer animation schools.
