Find your Second Career

Application Process

Follow the steps below to ensure all requirements for funding are met:
  1. If you are interested in Second Career funding, you must first visit your local Employment Service Provider.  Please see below for centres in Peel/Halton.  Please visit the Second Career Government website if you live outside this region.
  2. You will work with an Employment Consultant who will assess your eligibility before applying for funding.  Once you are eligible to apply and it is determined that second career funding is right for you, you will be provided with the appropriate application package.  The application package will require you to research three learning institutions as well as employment trends in your occupation area.
  3. Once your application is complete and you have been accepted into ONE of the learning institution programs, you and your Employment Consultant will review all the information to be sure it is ready.
  4. Your Employment Consultant will submit the entire application to the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.  The Ministry will review your application and determine if you will be approved for funding.
