Established in 1999, Sheridan Research was developed with a mandate to link opportunities for applied research in areas of industry that relate to the academic areas of excellence within the college’s areas of programming. 

In 2000, Sheridan Institute declared its intent to become a leading edge applied research centre, dedicated to building knowledge, advancing expertise and providing solutions to business in the areas of visualization, elder research and knowledge transformation.
